From modest beginnings living with her sisters and stay-at-home Mom in straightened financial circumstance, Robyn’s family recovered through hard work and determination. It’s a tough lesson to learn when you are ten years old. But the “school of hard knocks” taught some valuable lessons, and Robyn came to realize the key role that the psychology of money plays in determining the consequences of certain kinds of financial behavior. And that put her on the road to financial success, becoming an independently wealthy businesswoman. It’s a vitally important message that Robyn shares dynamically and engagingly with a wider audience through inspirational keynote speaking, media appearances, and financial literacy volunteering.

In a career that spans nearly two decades, Robyn’s experience ranges from respected financial journalist, financial advisor, and founder of Castlemark Wealth Management, an award-winning female-focused financial advisory business to an in-demand keynote speaker.

As an accomplished financial journalist, speaker, and communicator, Robyn has appeared regularly as a financial expert in a variety of venues and media channels, including CTV’s popular talk shows Your Morning and The Social, BNN Bloomberg, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, Reader’s Digest, and many others.

Robyn holds both the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation. She is also a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) and a member of the Financial Planners Standards Council. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Wealth Professional 5-Star Women in Wealth Award, the 5-Star Top Teams Award, and Financial Literacy Champion Financial Literacy Excellence Award.

Robyn also puts her financial expertise to use promoting financial literacy, especially for young people through her association with Junior Achievement.

Long bio

At the age of 10, her family’s sudden financial distress gave Robyn first-hand experience of the profound impact that attitudes and behaviors can have on our personal financial outcomes. A series of misfortunes forced the family into poverty, at one point relying on welfare support to survive. Because of this early experience, Robyn has a deep personal understanding of how shame, lack of confidence, and destructive attitudes and actions, amid a host of daily challenges can create negative and painful results. Growing up in a financially disadvantaged family, Robyn faced an uphill climb. Along the way she discovered how certain key actions can lead to the greater likelihood of financial achievement and life satisfaction.

Spurred by her circumstances, Robyn went on to achieve professional success as an independent business owner, motivational keynote speaker, media personality, and financial educator. “I believe everyone can achieve a healthier and happier relationship with money—whether you have a little or a lot, start early or later—by optimizing key attitudes and actions.”

In 2011, Robyn founded Castlemark Wealth Management in Toronto, Canada. Castlemark is an award-winning, independent asset management firm offering personalized financial planning and advisory services to businessowners, professionals, families, and individuals.

Robyn’s mission has always been to educate and motivate others—whether they have a little or a lot—to achieve financial success through optimizing their attitudes and actions. Today, she shares her personal stories and experiences, along with her professional expertise, with a much wider audience to bring “wealth within reach” and to create financial well-being, built to last.

Robyn’s philanthropic work involves supporting women’s financial literacy as a speaker at fundraising events such as Chatelaine magazine’s “The Stock Market Wears Prada.” She volunteers at JA Central Canada (Junior Achievement Canada), helping Canadian youth succeed through financial education and work skills training. In 2021, Robyn received the Financial Literacy Excellence Award from the IFSE Institute in recognition of her leadership and commitment to bettering the lives of individuals and families by actively working to educate and inspire them to achieve financial well-being.

Today, Robyn maintains a consulting role as founder and wealth consultant at Castlemark. The firm has won numerous awards, including 5-Star Women in Wealth (2021, 2022), and 5-Star Top Teams (2021, 2022) from Wealth Professional Canada.
